about britt

On January 4, 2022, my life changed forever.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 13,524 people were killed in drunk driving crashes in 2022. On that day, I was minutes away from becoming one of them.

I survived a devastating head-on collision caused by an impaired driver. What followed was a long road of surgeries, rehabilitation, and recovery that challenged me physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Many people know me as a crash survivor. But that is only one chapter of my story.

Outside of the advocacy and nonprofit work, I’m simply just Britt.

I’m a wife, mom of three, military spouse, and someone who genuinely loves people. My faith in Jesus Christ is at the center of who I am and has carried me through some of the hardest — and most beautiful — seasons of my life.

I’m obsessed with the beach, love to run, will never turn down dark chocolate, and fully believe a good massage can fix almost anything. I love spending time with my family and friends, a competitive game night, laughing way too hard, and simply doing life with good people.

Over time, I realized that surviving wasn’t the end of my story — it was the beginning of a new purpose.

At Bold Like Britt, we believe in the power of turning adversity into strength. My near-fatal encounter with impaired driving became the catalyst for a mission to raise awareness, inspire change, and remind others that even in life’s darkest moments, there is light ahead.

Everything I do through Bold Like Britt is rooted in my faith, my family, my commitment to serving others, and the belief that one story really can change a life.

Bold Like Britt is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Brittany Cass, a survivor of a head-on, life-altering collision caused by a repeat drunk driver. Through her personal journey of resilience and healing, Brittany has turned her tragedy into a powerful mission to educate communities about the dangers of drunk driving, substance abuse, and making responsible choices.

Bold Like Britt works with schools, youth groups, military communities, and advocacy organizations like Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to raise awareness, influence public policy, and inspire individuals to embrace their faith and empower them to overcome hard things.

our mission

Bold Like Britt is more than a message — it’s a movement.

Our mission is to boldly educate communities to eliminate drinking and driving, inspire cultural change, and help empower individuals to overcome hard things.

HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT

EDUCATION

We bring education to students and communities about the dangers of drinking and driving. Through presentations, workshops, and outreach, we work to change the culture around impaired driving and safe choices.

ADVOCACY

We advocate for public policy changes, including support for initiatives to lower the legal blood alcohol concentration for driving from 0.08 to 0.05% and Ignition Interlock. We collaborate with lawmakers, organizations, and the community to raise awareness and effect meaningful change.

MILITARY OUTREACH

As a military spouse, Britt understands the unique challenges service members face. We are honored to partner with military installations and organizations to foster a culture of safety, awareness, and support.

FAITH-BASED SPEAKING

Britt feels called to share her testimony of Jesus Christ with youth and adults. She speaks about how faith can be a source of strength and how even life’s most painful moments can become opportunities to experience miracles and grow closer to God.
